How payment, sessions, and credit work.

TONALIK offers private guidance rooted in Toltec wisdom: scheduled conversation, discernment, and related notes. This is not medical care, psychotherapy, legal advice, or emergency support. It complements — and does not replace — licensed professional care in your region.

Places and openings are limited. Payment reserves your work with this practice. It does not guarantee a particular calendar slot until you choose one from available times, or until Alex confirms a time with you.

Once payment is completed, session fees and plan fees are non-refundable. There is no cash refund because you later change your mind, miss a time, or decide the work is not for you.

Sessions and plan places are non-transferable. You may not sell, gift, assign, or otherwise pass your session, credit, access code, or Ongoing place to another person.

If you cannot make a time after you have paid, you keep credit for that session. The credit is used by booking another opening that works for you, coordinated directly with Alex — typically by replying to your confirmation email or using the contact page. There is no extra charge to move the same paid session to another available opening.

Credit stays with you, for your own session. It does not convert back to cash, and it does not move to someone else.

After payment, you choose a time from openings, or Alex confirms a time with you. Please give as much notice as you reasonably can if you cannot attend, so that opening can be offered to someone else.

If you miss a scheduled time without notice, the session is still considered used from a calendar perspective, but your paid credit remains available for another opening. Repeated no-shows may mean future times are offered more conservatively, so the calendar stays fair to everyone holding a place.

Alex may need to move a time for illness, emergency, or a calendar conflict. If that happens, you are not charged again. Your session remains credited and is rebooked to another opening.

Ongoing plans include a set number of sessions in each billing period. Plan payments are non-refundable for the current period once charged. Unused included sessions in that period remain as your credit to book another opening; they are not cashed out.

You can manage or cancel a Stripe subscription through the billing portal where it is offered. Cancellation stops future renewals. It does not create a refund for time already billed.

You must actively accept these terms (the checkbox on the payment page) before card checkout or before using a plan-included session. That acceptance is part of the contract. If you do not agree, do not pay.

This practice serves people in more than one country. Mandatory local consumer protections still apply where they cannot be waived. The points below are the legal frameworks this policy is written to align with — they are not a promise that every court will treat a session the same way.

United States. A clearly disclosed, agreed no-refund policy for a personal service is generally a matter of contract, so long as it is not hidden or unconscionable. The FTC Cooling-Off Rule is aimed mainly at certain door-to-door sales, not typical online booking of a private session. Offering credit to another opening — rather than leaving you with no remedy — is the fair-use of a reserved, limited practice calendar.

European Union and United Kingdom. Distance contracts often carry a 14-day withdrawal right under the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), as retained and applied in the UK. That right does not apply to some dated leisure and appointment-style services when a specific date or period of performance is set (Article 16(l); see also CJEU C-96/21 on dated leisure access). It can also end once a service is fully performed with your prior express consent and acknowledgement (Article 16(a)). Open, undated credits can still fall under cooling-off in some member states until a date is set. This is why TONALIK’s remedy is credit to another opening, and why local cooling-off rules, where they cannot be waived, take precedence until they expire or until the session is scheduled or delivered.

Mexico and other jurisdictions. Mexican consumer law (including the Federal Consumer Protection Law and PROFECO guidance) requires clear information before you pay and can limit clauses that try to strip rights the law itself grants. Similar information and fairness rules exist in Canada, Australia, and many other places. We do not use the policy to deny a right a statute actually gives you. We use it to say: paid sessions are not cashed out, not handed to someone else, and if you cannot attend, the value stays as credit for another opening.

Card networks. Stripe and the card brands can still open a dispute. A documented, accepted policy and a credit/reschedule path are the records this practice keeps for that process. A chargeback is not the same as a refund under these terms.

Sessions are for adults seeking discernment and private conversation. The practice may decline or end work that falls outside its scope, including clinical crisis, or that is abusive toward the practitioner. Fees already paid remain subject to the credit policy above unless a local law requires otherwise.

These terms may be updated. The version on this page at the moment you accept and pay is the version that applies to that payment. Later changes do not rewrite a booking you already completed unless the law requires it or you agree again.
